Personality:
For someone who lived alone in a tower for her whole life, Rapunzel is surprisingly optimistic and spunky. She greets every day with the same excitement, despite going through the same routine over and over. Having so much free time on her hands has allowed her to master many different skills like baking and candle making, leading to her being a bit of a jack-of-all-trades. She's also knowledgeable about more advanced subjects like astronomy.

Despite all this, Rapunzel doesn't know how the world works. She doesn't really know how to interact in social situations and has to rely on her natural charm. Fortunately, her natural charisma helps her win people over a little easier. She also proves to be very faithful and reliable, actually taking pride in the fact that she always keeps her promises no matter what. Interestingly, Rapunzel herself is immune to filrtatious charms, most likely due to her very limited social interaction. She has a lively and spirited sense of adventure, again caused by being shut away for her life. Once outside her tower, she proves to be quite daring, even swinging across a ravine and being willing to take on a bar full of ruffians and thugs to save Flynn. This quality is what helps her along her way to ahieve her dream of seeing the floating lanterns.

Unfortunately, these qualities also have their downsides. Gothel takes advantage of Rapunzel's naivete and obedience to keep her and her magic hair all to herself. Gothel is also the cause of many of Rapunzel's self doubts, constantly putting her down and excusing it by saying she's just teasing. When Rapunzel first leaves her tower, her thoughts are constantly torn between finally achieving her dream and worrying over what her mother will say or do if she ever finds out.

Justification:
Positive:
Hope: Rapunzel is always hopeful and optimistic, even when she doesn't have reason to be. For example, she believes that her mother will take her to see the floating lights despite never being allowed out of her tower.
Healing: Her hair had magical healing powers as long as it was never cut.
Confidence: She believes she can take care of herself out in the world and is later shown to have plenty of confidence in Flynn.
Inspiration: Rapunzel finds beauty and inspiration in everything around her and later inspires others to persue their dreams through her optimism.

Negative:
Self Doubt: Despite initially believing that she can take care of herself, the moment she disobeys her mother she starts doubting herself and feeling guilty. She flip-flops between enjoying her time out of the tower and dreading what her mother will say.
Lack of Trust: Much like with her confidence, Rapunzel's faith in herself starts to go down the drain whenever her mother gets involved, making her question Flynn's motivation for helping her and influencing her to get her to stay in the tower forever.
Obstacles in the Way of Happiness: Rapunzel's life is defined by her hair and her mother. Gothel is an overhanging presence that constantly haunts her, and the hair that she's been told to protect is not much more than an annoyance out in the real world.

[Rapunzel is smiling, as usual, despite the fact that it's clear that she's embarrassed. Her face is smudged with flour and there's trays of pastries in the background.]

Is anyone hungry? I, uh...didn't realize how much I baked until I ran out of ingredients, and I can't really eat all this by myself. I've got cookies and cupcakes and brownies... Oh! And I even have a few pies!

[She's slowly growing more and more embarrassed over the course of the video, which is obvious by her hand winding some of her newly cut hair around her fingers.]

So, umm... If anyone wants any, you can come have some. It's all free and everything, so just come on over.

Third Person Sample:
The worst thing about the dark hour had to be the chill. Maybe her clothes just weren't thick enough. Maybe it was the fact that she didn't own a single pair of shoes. Either way, she needed to fix it before she got sick. She didn't have her magic hair anymore, so she couldn't afford something like that.

It always felt strange to think of her hair as normal. Even now, wandering around and hunting shadows, the absence of her hair dragging along behind her felt...wrong. It was like she'd cut off a limb and was having to learn how to walk again. She stopped for a moment to listen for Shadows, causing the ends of her hair to brush against her waist. She was always conscious of it now.

But now wasn't the time to think of her hair. If she thought about how things used to be, then she'd start to think about certain people she missed and she'd be too distracted to get any training done. And she really needed to train. She couldn't keep relying on others here. She had to be strong. If she wasn't strong enough, she'd never be able to help Mother if she ended up here, too. So she steadied herself, frying pan at the ready, and kept moving, her bare feet padding softly against the ground.
